Our responsibilities

Our sector maintains essential campus services and activities. Our diverse team of professional trades people work on operational aspects of campus infrastructure and performs service requests, including building operations, maintenance, general repairs, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, mechanics, electricity, instrumentation and controls, plumbing, and architectural trades.

Architectural trades

Comprised of four specialized teams, Facilities’ Architectural trades unit is responsible for the majority of the general building maintenance on campus.

Our team is tasked with electrical maintenance and the remote environmental-management and monitoring of the entire campus.

Engineering and sustainability

We support the Planning and IPD teams while maintaining a "big picture" view of the University's infrastructure and adapting to the growing needs of our community.

Grounds and transportation

We provide grounds maintenance, landscaping and snow removal as well as transportation services.

Mechanical and plumbing

We provide mechanical maintenance and plumbing services, including water supply and distribution service management (sewers, pipes, valves, water meters, fire hydrants and fire-prevention infrastructure).

Postal Service

Our role is to provide mail delivery services at Ƶ, both internal and external, from Monday through Friday.

We are responsible for the operation and preventative / corrective maintenance of Ƶ's power plant.
