Reset MFA on a mobile device
The following instructions will assist you in resetting the MFA on your mobile device.
It is now possible for you to reset your Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) by using the Self-Service MFA Reset (SSMR). This tool allows you to reset your MFA on a new mobile device (if you lost or replaced yours) or if you encounter issues with the Microsoft Authenticator app on your existing mobile device to access Ƶ systems.
For security purposes, the following criteria must be met to use the SSMR:
- Your internet connection (IP network) must be in Canada.
- The MFA reset must be done between 7 a.m. and 11 p.m. EST.
- You cannot use this tool if your password was changed in the last 72 hours.
To start your MFA Reset, you will need:
- the mobile device that you will use for authentication with the MFA app installed.
- a recovery email address registered to your uoAccess account.
Then, visit the and follow these instructions:
- Enter your uoAccess ID and password, do the CAPTCHA verification and click “Login”.
- Validate your identity by providing the requested information and click “Next”.
- A verification code will be sent to your recovery email address (configured previously), enter that code, and click “Submit”.
- Your MFA is now reset, and you must enrol your device.
