First-year civil law student Marie-Ève Demets — Performed “Partir là-bas,” a ballad from the French version of The Little Mermaid
Third-year interdisciplinary arts student Sophie Hogan — Performed “Sailor Song” by Gigi Perez with vocals and acoustic guitar
Second-year international development and globalization student Mateja Grace Yanchula — Performed “One Way Wonder,” an original song, with vocals and acoustic guitar
Fourth-year music (vocal performance) student Emily Deschamps — Performed her original ballad on piano with vocals
First-year French literature and education student Abigaëlle Pinsonneault — Performed “Ensemble” by Aliocha Schneider as a vocal solo
Third-year nursing student Matthew Andrawis — Performed a soulful solo ballad with an instrumental backing track
Dark Room Band (lead singer: third-year communication and visual arts student Alya Bouslama, guitarist: second-year software engineering student Raphaelle Ghanem, drummer: fifth-year computer science student Zanou Rih) — Three-member indie/alternative rock band
Interdisciplinary arts student Mélia Martin — Performed “Bohemian Rhapsody” by Queen with vocals and flute
First-year music (voice) student Elaina Zacharia — Performed a powerful original ballad with vocals and keyboard
Second-year psychology (BA) student and music minor Jacob Gagnon — Performed his original song with vocals and an instrumental track
First-year conflict studies and human rights student Ambre Côté — Performed a powerful solo ballad with an instrumental track
Second-year finance student Pohieltcha Serge Erwan N’Guessan — Performed a rap song in French

uoTalent, brought to you by CHUO 89.1 FM in partnership with Privv, the University of Ottawa and House of Ensemble, will be a showcase of creativity, passion and artistry.
Finalists will showcase their talent with four or five-minute performances in front of a live audience and a panel of judges at the UCU on March 20, starting at noon. Prizes for the winners include:
• Judges’ Choice: $1,000, a one-year agency contract and an artist brand development package
• Best Francophone Performance: $500 (Sponsored by the Carrefour francophone)
• People’s Choice: $500, decided by live audience voting during the event
