The following information outlines the roles of the various committees who support academic requests, and promotions for our clinical Faculty.

Please contact your Department Chair’s office for a copy of the documents required to submit your academic request.  All requests must be reviewed and approved by the Department Chair and supported by the DTPC.  

The Department will assist and ensure that your file is reviewed accordingly and submitted electronically for review and approval at the Faculty of Medicine.  Clinical academic requests are reviewed by one of the following committees. 

Faculty Appointment Advisory Committee (FAAC)

The Faculty Appointments Advisory Committee (FAAC) is a Faculty level committee supported by the Office of Faculty Affairs.The FAAC advises the Dean concerning clinical faculty appointments and reclassifications to the rank of Assistant Professor.

Clinical Teaching Personnel Committee (CTPC)

The Clinical Teaching Personnel Committee (CTPC) is a Faculty level committee supported by the Office of Faculty Affairs.The CTPC is chaired by the Dean and reviews request for academic promotion, academic leave, cross-appointment, emeritus professor, and other matters when referred by the Dean for our clinical faculty.

Departmental Teaching Personnel Committee (DTPC)

The Departmental Teaching Personnel Committee (DTPC) is a Departmental level committee supported by the University Department Chair’s Office.
