- Recognition knows no limits! Recognize your peers, direct reports, managers and leaders, as well as students and colleagues from across the Faculty and in partner organizations.

The Faculty of Medicine鈥檚 Faculty Member Recognition Strategy consists of categorized lists of recognition initiatives to help guide recognition activities. Some must be implemented by leadership, but many are appropriate for anyone to employ.

Kudos
Give a Kudo, make someone's day!
The Faculty of Medicine would like your help recognizing our learners, faculty and support staff members for their exemplary work, efforts, and for upholding the Faculty鈥檚 values (compassion, inclusion, diversity, integrity, professionalism, respect, social accountability, sustainability, transparency, and wellness).

Process:
- Share your appreciationby submiting a Kudo the quick and easy !
- A learner or staff or faculty member submits a Kudo. It might be lightly edited by MarCom.
- Once approved, the nominator will be asked to notify the nominee(s) to ensure they are comfortable having a Kudo in MedFlash.
- If the Kudo is about a team and individuals are not named, the nominator will be asked to share the Kudo text with the team鈥檚 manager/supervisor to confirm accuracy of the text and to ask the manager to share the Kudos text with their team once it鈥檚 published.
Kudos will be posted in the MedFlash newsletter.

Kudos tips and examples
Here are some tips and to get you started on writing Kudos:
- The most effective Kudos are sincere, timely, highlight specific behaviours or accomplishments, and are tied to the individual or team鈥檚 traits or qualities.
- Kudos don鈥檛 have to be long. A few sentences should do the trick.
- Team up! Work with a colleague or have someone proofread your message.
- If you鈥檙e unsure if you should submit a Kudo, check with the individual鈥檚 supervisor.
- Don鈥檛 stress about getting it perfect. The sentiment will be appreciated and effective regardless.
